Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 – Tarangire: meeting the giants

After your arrival in Tanzania, the sunrise finds you bumping past roadside banana stalls, the air sweet with charcoal smoke.

After a few hours of driving, you soon reach Tarangire as you start noticing the baobabs looming like ancient thunderclouds and elephant herds march single-file toward the Tarangire River.

Watch Giraffes nibbling in the acacia tops, zebras shuffling in dusty stripes, and your guide pops the roof to let the savanna breeze tangle your hair.

Sunset paints the valley copper, silhouettes of tuskers framed against a molten sky. This is your first day in the Tarangire.

Enjoy your morning coffee or steaming tea and depart for Serengeti as you drive climbing through the Rift escarpment, rooftops of Karatu and finally entering the Serengeti through the Naabi Hill Gate.

Immediately, you see the grassland suddenly becomes ocean—wildebeest herds ripple to every horizon, their low brays a living soundtrack. Cheetahs perch on termite mounds, lilac-breasted rollers flash neon wings, and a storm cloud bruises the western sky in dramatic swirls. Lanterns glow at camp while hyenas whoop just out of sight.

Day 3 – Serengeti: predator patrol

Wake to francolins shouting at dawn. Lions clean breakfast faces beside your track; a leopard drapes over an acacia branch, tail twitching like a lazy metronome.

Mid-day siesta in camp, then you chase late-afternoon light toward the kopjes—golden bodies melt into granite while cubs practice stealth on utterly unimpressed rock hyraxes.

Stars arrive bright and close, the Milky Way a chalk smear above your tent.

Upon arrival in Ngorongoro, at the rim a cool mist hugs moss-draped trees; then you drop 600 m to the crater floor, where lions sprawl belly-up, buffalo steam in the chill, and a lone black rhino sketches a prehistoric silhouette.

After the encounter, have a late afternoon ascent taking you to rim lodgings with a fire crackling and clouds spilling over the edge like dry ice.
